Other than HTML coding, I am also able to understand and work with the cascading style sheet (CSS) that normally accompanies HTML. Other programs I am familiar with include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Through the Style and Design course, many of
the Adobe programs were used to create
the projects in my portfolio. Other than Adobe
Photoshop and Adobe InDesign, I also used Adobe Dreamweaver to help create this digital resume and portfolio, as well as Adobe Illustrator.
Writing in AP style has been thoroughly practiced since I declared Public Relations as a major. Throughout all my public relations courses, most all the writing has been in AP style, from social media releases to media kits to news stories.
Social media has exploded even more since I was a freshman. Although most people use it to stay in touch with friends and family, businesses have started to see the impact social media can have on reaching it's target audience. I feel that I am experienced in maintaining existing accounts, as well as creating new posts.
Choosing a school 11 hours away from home expanded my social skills and basically taught me how to meet and engage with my peers. I am more than capable and confident to take on a new place and with new people at any time.
Over the past four years, I have had the opportunity to go abroad twice, the second time being my internship. I do not think anything else in the world can teach you more about yourself than traveling. You're faced with new challenges, which in turn create new skills. When you have to step out of your comfort zone you truly realize how much you can handle. Traveling taught me to think fast, how to handle unexpected problems, intercultural communication, and definitely patience.
