Public Relations Coursework
Foundations of PR
This course served as an overview of the history of public relations, focusing on the communication tools and technologies needed to be successful at public relations.
Survey & Research Methods
This course taught me the basic principles of public relations research and how to collect data, draft a survey, and then analyze the collected data. I used Qualtrics to create a survey for my client, United Way. The final project can be found in my portfolio.
Case Studies & Ethics in PR
This course focused on analyzing past and current public relations cases in order to better understand effective and ineffective methods of public relations.
Writing for PR
This course is designed to teach students the correct way to reach a target audience through a variety of medium. There was a strong focus on social media releases and press releases, which can be found in my media kit under portfolio.
Style & Design
This course was designed to teach students HTML 5 coding and how to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver. We also wrote articles weekly for Auburn Family, The Corner News, and Extension Daily. These articles can be found in my personal Wordpress blog.
This course teaches students how to apply public relations processes with a real life client. The campaign consists of research, planning, implementation and evaluation. My client was the City of Auburn, and the campaign can be found under my portfolio.
